The three bros all ready to open gifts. They had their pj's and Santa hats on and were patient enough to let us take pictures of them. They are such good boys!! We had our own little Christmas tonight while G&G were at a party for work. The gifts get spread out a little that way. They will get 5 different times to open gifts instead of 1 overwhelming time!!
Here is Hayden and his Little Einstein's ship he got. He was so excited. It's the 1st Christmas he actually understood a little of what was going on and he loved it!!
Jaxon got a Wii game that he has been loving already. It's amazing how fast he can pick up on games like that and I have no clue what is going on!
Info on Jaxon's appointment.....
Jaxon had a couple big appointments on Thurs. and Fri. in Rochester. We saw his rehab Dr. 1st on Thus. and when we told her what Jax has been through the last few months, she really felt like we needed to get him a walker and a wheel chair, to start to get him some independence. When Jax has a flare, like he did last week after he was in the hospital, he doesn't walk by himself much. I carry him around a lot and that is hard on me because he is heavy, but he would rather be able to do things on his own and these would give him that chance. He would also be able to try school on the days he can't walk, which would make him feel great too. He hates to miss school, but some days he doesn't walk until 2 or 3 pm. Then we had an ultrasound on his belly, because of all his issues in that area. And we had blood taken. It was a long day! The next day we got the results of his blood and ultrasound from Dr. Mason. The blood work was not surprising at all. His counts were high again, which wasn't good. On the ultrasound he was fine. His spleen is enlarged, but that is from all his meds and his JRA. That could be some of the cause of his stomach problems, but it could be an ulcer too, we will find out more in Jan. Dr. Mason, put his steroids up again to 5mls, which he was on 3mls, to get his swelling in his legs to go down. We are also going to go down again in Jan.13th and have cortisone shots put directly into both hips, ankles and knees. There is alot of fluid so they will take some out too before they do the shot. He will be out for this which will make it way easier. He is thinking that maybe getting it right at his problem sites we can get more of a result we want. He didn't want to do it until necessary because he has so many places to do it in! Then we will go from there. What our goal is(the same thing it's been for 2 yrs.) to try to get him off of steroids so he can grow. He has hardly grown at all in the last 1 and a half yrs. at least maybe more. We had company on this trip which was good and bad for Jax all at the same time. Jeremy had b-ball so Mom and I took all three boys. Jonah and Hayden love to go, but it's such a long trip, and they can get pretty cranky. (which I can too I guess, so who can blame them). Jax liked to have them along and loved to bring them to his fav. places to eat, like the Noodles Company and Quiznoes. He also got to pick Apple Bees Thurs. night when G&G Knick took us out to eat. We had alot of fun staying with them that night. It is such a blessing to have them to stay with on these trips! Jaxon loves it there, it is his comfort! We will know more soon and I will update then.
