An Early Morning

Hayden hanging out in his bed, eating the many treats Grandma brought for him!

Hayden had his MRI yesterday morning @ about 8:45am. We had to be there at 6:45am, so we had to leave Ashby around 5am to pick up my mom. She braved the (way too) cold, to come with us, which was so nice of her. I was pretty tired and nervous, so it was great to have her along. Brittney also came up to hang out with us, she lives in Fargo, so she was close. But, that's still pretty early to wake up, cause she went out before, to get us coffee's, from Caribou! They were a great way to wake up, thanks Britt!!
Hayden was under for about 2 hours, and woke up great. He got to leave about noon, and we went and got something for lunch, then went to see Britt's apartment. The roads were wonderful, both ways, thank the Lord!
We still haven't heard anything, so I'm assuming that's good news, cause if there was something, we would probably know, right away. I will post the results when I get them!
Thank you everyone, for your prayers and thoughts, we feel them all!

His mad face!!
Hayden was a little mad, when he was waking up, but we eventually got that out of him!
His happy face, 2 seconds later!

These are taken at the front of Peds. in Meritcare. Hayden loved the little tree house, that he found while we walked around, when we waited for his MRI. He really wanted his picture taken by it, before we left!

Update......

I just wanted to write a little bit about Jax and Hayden, especially for family, to catch up. Jaxon has been having a rough couple of weeks, he has been in a lot of pain. His ankles have been really sore and swollen, his hips have been bothering him (which hasn't been a problem, lately), and his shoulders have been really sore too. Of course, he has been such a trooper, as usual, but we can tell it is taking it's toll on him. He as been more sad lately, and having a hard time concentrating at school. I know this sounds really dreary, and sad, but I know those who read this blog, are praying. Prayer is one of the main reasons, that we have made it through these last few years! We have so many people praying, thank you so much! This is just a little update on how to pray for Jax. It is such a roller coaster of a disease, sometimes we just coast through our days, with Jax being just fine, then there are days like we've had, that are more hard. He has been pretty resilient, these last few years. But these flares, are harder and harder to work through, for him. I think he is realizing more and more, what he is dealing with.
Then there is Hayden.... he has been doing great, these last few years. He just got new braces, last month, that you can't even see in his shoes! But, on Sunday evening, he crawled upstairs, crying about his right leg. He didn't walk the rest of the night, and was in a lot of pain. The weird thing is, that I could move it all over, if I just went slowly. We tried to get him to stand on it, but he would just fall over to the right. We put him to bed, and checked on him lots during the night. He woke up doing a little better, but still falling over some, and unable to walk up the stairs. So, I decided to call his neurologist, because it just didn't feel right, with his background. They were glad I called, cause it wasn't normal, and told us that he needed to have a MRI, just to make sure. Since Monday, after his nap, he has been just fine. Walking around, with out falling, and climbing the stairs, with no problems. We have his MRI tomorrow morning @ 6:45am, in Fargo. Not the best time, cause we have to leave here @ 5am, but it will be good to check it out. There can be relapses of the Transverse Myelitis, but it is rare. There is also a greater risk of MS, since he had TM, so it will be good to make sure to rule those things out, because it is probably nothing!
Now you are all caught up, life just doesn't slow down around our house!! But, we are so thankful, and blessed, for the prayers and support we have in our lives!

Pictures forgotten!!

So, I totally forgot to put these on here!! It was over a month ago, but oh well!! Jax still wanted me to get them posted. He got to have a friend birthday party this year, at the bowling alley! He invited 4 friends from school, and one from church. They got to bowl, eat pizza and pop, with cupcakes for dessert. It was a great time, but a little loud! Jonah and Hayden were there too, of course, and got to bowl a little bit.

The whole group!

Bowling fun!

Inside joke.......

See full size image
Ha Ha Ha........This is for Brittney and Jeremy. I know, weird........ but they will get it. And I can explain what was going on, but I don't know if anyone else will think it's funny at all. Jeremy was on the phone with Britt the other night, and I was laughing at Jeremy, about something he said. Britt had asked what was new, and Jeremy said " Well, we got a new pet goat!". "Make sure you check the blog for pics of our new pet goat." My laugh really sounded like a goat, it was pretty funny. We were all laughing so hard, we were crying, and I wasn't even on the phone. So, I told Britt, through Jer, I would put it on the blog.
I'm sure most of you think this is a little weird, and it is, but I had to do it!!

A Wonderful Surprise!!

I guess I have to blog about my 30th Birthday, not because I am so excited to turn 30 (because I'm not!!), but I got a huge surprise, a couple of days later! My mom had told me, a few days before, that I had to leave the Friday after my birthday open. I needed to be at her house by 11am, and here is who I saw....a great group of my friends, and a wonderful spread for brunch! Jess Hansen, Suzy Heikes, Christine Lawson, and Lynae Rush were there to surprise me. My mom had a cheese and crackers plate, and sparking apple cider, as a starter. Then the doorbell rang, and she told me I should answer it, because we were waiting for 1 more person. I had no idea who else she could have invited........

I kinda looked out the little window of the door and thought I saw Jess Levang, but told my self "no way"!! Well my first instinct was right, it was JESS LEVANG!! I totally freaked.....I think I actually ran away at first, screaming! Then I ran and got a huge hug, it was so much fun to see her! My mom and dad flew her here for my birthday. My mom actually got me, which doesn't happen very often! Plus, Jess got to surprise all her family too! Her mom was shocked, and her sister-in-law, and brother-in-law, got Brian and Renae (her brother and sister) to town, for the surprise! It was fun to hear about those surprises too!

She has lived out in Seattle for the last couple of years, and so, that was one of the last people, I would have thought it was. Whoever doesn't know who Jess Levang is, she has been my best friend since I moved here, the summer before our 7th grade year. That is 17 years, a long time! She was my maid of honor, in my wedding, and has been through everything with me! No matter how far away we live from each other, or how long it has been, since we have talked last, we have always been able to pick up right where we left off!!

After I got over the shock, we sat down for an incredible brunch. It consisted of 2 different kinds of rolls, a sausage egg bake, a ham and swiss cheese egg roll, and fruit. It was all so good, and as you can see, the table was set beautifully, with fall colors!

We all kept saying, how much fun it was to have an adult party. Since most of us are mom's, we don't get that very often! We just sat around the table after, with coffee and visited. Then we moved out to the comfy chairs. We had such a great time, and I got lots of great presents too! I also got to meet Christine's new little Isabelle, and hold her lots, which was special too! It was a great morning and afternoon, we had so much fun catching up! Jess was able to stay around the rest of the afternoon, just relaxing, and drinking more coffee with me!

Mom & Dad, I don't know how to thank you, for the great surprise! Mom, thanks for all your hard work, in getting the brunch ready, and taking care of Hayden! I loved it, and still get excited, every time I remember it! You made me feel so special, and so loved!!
Thanks to all the ladies, who took the time out of their busy schedules, to come. It really made my b-day extra special! I had so much fun seeing, and hanging out with you!
Jess, thanks for working it out to get out here, for my birthday, you made my day so wonderful! I miss you tons already!

Halloween at the Knick house!

We will start with the boys..... Hayden was a blue Power Ranger, Jaxon was Spiderman, and Jonah was Dash, from the Incredibles. It was a big day for them, because we started off the day with Jaxon's birthday party, then got to go Trick-or-Treating! They had a blast walking around town, and got tons of candy, that will probably last till Christmas! Grandpa Kevers and Grandma J went with us, Grandpa followed us, in the van, so we could go warm up, once and a while!

Next we move on to Jeremy.... he really wanted to dress up this year, and has been wanting to be one of the Blue Man group. So, he ordered a blue swim cap, and mixed face paint to get the right color. He wore all black, and had blue gloves, he was all decked out!! He had to wake up extra early, to get all the paint on, which really wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. He really didn't even look like himself, it was kinda creepy! They boys loved it, of course, and so did his kids at school. He did say, that hardly anybody knew who he was. Even the highschoolers came down to check him out!
Putting the paint on.
Jaxon's reaction to his dad's costume!
Jonah has a Blue Man Group piano, that he let his dad borrow, for the day. It was a great addition to the costume!
Seriously, he doesn't even look like my husband!!!

Birthday Post #1

We celebrated Jaxon's 8th Birthday this last weekend. It was a little early, because my Dad left on a trip to Asia, for a few weeks, and would be missing Jaxon's birthday. Of course, Jax had no problem having his party early!! Jax got lots of great gifts, and we all ate lots of great food! Thanks to Judi and my mom, we had cheese balls and crackers, taco dip and raspberry tart. The boys had their own chocolate cake, and salsa and chips. We all had a great time, with lots of laughs, as usual
.
Jax and his tower of presents!
He actually took the time to read all of his cards, which I thought was a pretty big deal, for a little boy! Everyone loved listening to him read!

On to the presents.....
He got Wii Sports Resort, from Mom & Dad, Jonah and Hayden.
He was excited for this Vikings shirt, a Vikings football, with salsa and chips, from Nathan, Amber and Brittney!
He also got some really nice shirts, headphones, and a new MP3 player, from Grandpa and Grandma Rogness. A cool football shirt, a whole sweatsuit outfit, and Star Wars Lego's, from Grandma J and Grandpa Kevers. And lots of $ from Great-Grandparents!
Wow, did he make a load!

Thanks everybody for coming! Jax had a blast with all of you! Tomorrow he is going to have 6 of his friends come bowling with him. He is way excited! We are having pizza, pop and cupcakes there, along with a fun time bowling! It's a great way to do something fun, pretty reasonably. So, more pics to come on that party too, and that isn't even his b-day yet!
